Who we are
The regulars.
It would be hard to find a more mixed congregation anywhere else in Wales. Mixed in terms of age, ethnicity, employment and education.
Not only is the congregation drawn from the town population and as a consequence made up of people who were born and bred in the area but also it includes a large number of incomers. Some of them have come because of the University and have stayed here, others because Aberystwyth is an administrative centre and they have come to work in local government, others have come because of the hospital and still others because of the commercial opportunities which a seaside town can offer.
On an average Sunday we see about 500 different people coming to our services and that includes people of Welsh and English, Indian, Chinese and African ethnicity. Ages range from babies in the womb to the elderly and retired.
University professors mix with hospital employees, local government officers, members of the Chamber of Trade, professionals and blue collar workers. Our congregation also includes people who are on the Rhoserchan drug and alcohol rehabilitation programme [http://www.rhoserchan.org.uk] as well as residents of Plas Lluest which is a residential centre for people with learning difficulties [http://www.prospects.org.uk].
