» Home Groups

Because St Mike’s is a large church, people can sometimes feel that they are swallowed up in the crowd. We really don’t want that to happen, and so strongly encourage folk to belong to one of our Home groups.

This is the place where you will get to know people, where you can make friends, have fellowship together, where you can meet as a group on a regular basis (usually weekly) to discuss spiritual issues, focusing perhaps on a series of Christian themes or on a book of the Bible. This is the place to bring any questions or problems that could be discussed in a small group setting. It is also a place to learn, and provides the opportunity to spend time in prayer together.

The leaders of the groups have been given the responsibility for caring for their group – they pray for their members by name regularly, and encourage personal spiritual growth.

We have (at present) 37 different groups. Some are for students only, some meet out of Aberystwyth in the hinterland, perhaps near where you live… some in the daytime; some in the evening. There is sure to be a group that will suit you and your circumstances – and if not, we will do our utmost to create a group that will suit you!

The groups have grown as the church has grown, and are a vital part of the way St Mike’s works. The groups are the bedrock of the pastoral system, and the support networks that have grown out of the groups are really exciting to see.

I’m sure that you will also want to experience the blessing of being in a small fellowship within the wider fellowship – and so please speak to Jean Morgan on a Sunday, or contact her via the church office or send her an email jean@stmikes.net.
