Resources
Every church is a gifted church because each member of the congregation has gifts; some they were born with and are innate, some they acquired through training and education, whilst some are supernatural and have come from God’s Holy Spirit.
Our congregation in St. Michael’s is particularly talented and many of the creative arts are released to enhance our worship and teaching.
Preaching and teaching
St. Michael’s has been a preaching centre for some 30 years and taped copies of sermons [more recently CDs] are available of the sermons preached by Bertie Lewis, Stuart Bell, Andy Herrick and a succession of curates including Mones Farah, Andy John, Harry Latham and Marcus Green, together with many visiting speakers such as Michael Green, Adrian Plass, J.John, John Stott and many more. For more information on this please contact our church office on 01970 617184 or email naomi@stmikes.net
Worship and music
For over quarter of a century the worship life of St. Michael’s has been a spectacular bringing together of heaven and earth twice a Sunday. The members of our choir and worship group have changed substantially over the years but one thing has remained the same, and that is the anointing of God’s Spirit upon the worship. Copies of CDs and tapes of special recordings and of live worship are available. Please contact our church office on 01970 617184 or email naomi@stmikes.net
Broadcasts
Increasingly our church is used for national broadcasts both on TV and radio. Two years ago we were the host church for the BBC1 Pentecost Service and copies of the video and DVD entitled ‘In the Power of the Spirit’ are still available. So too are tapes and CDs of our most recent Radio 4 broadcasts.
Home group material
We have been writing our own material for use in our small groups for several decades now, and although it is adapted specifically for our own people, yet much of it would transfer into the life of any congregation. Subjects we have covered include, Living for Christ in a Pagan World [1 Peter], Pursuing Spiritual Transformation, David: man of song, sin and success, the Pastoral Epistles, Hebrews, Exodus, Haggai and much more.
