For the Retired

May I introduce to you the work amongst the retired members of our community carried out through two meetings a month

Mature Munch and Tea and Talk

Mature Munch

From the beginning the meetings have been used for evangelistic purposes. People brought neighbours and friends. Not all are members of a church, but their regular attendance shows appreciation of the things of God. From time to time we encourage everyone to bring someone new.

The Mature Munch is a lunchtime meeting where a complete meal is served with a message. Cost is kept to a minimum, which everyone can afford. The regular attendee appreciates the sharing of a meal and many friendships develop. Lonely people are cared for and illness and personal difficulties are prayed over. The meeting closes with a message from the Bible, and favourite Hymns are sung.

Tea and Talk

Tea and Talk is an afternoon meeting where we find out more of what Jesus is doing in his world. Sometimes we hear from people going on or returning from missionary work, or hear testimonies. This is followed by a traditional Welsh tea and time to chat.

Both meetings have times of fellowship, prayer, worship and the opportunity to experience more of the Lord in our lives.

We finish the season in July for a summer break with a bus trip, a cream tea and a message. We restart at the beginning of October.

Christmas and Easter are special times of celebration.

At Christmas time we distribute surplus money to further Christian work throughout the World.

The Mature Munch starts promptly at 12:30pm and the Tea and Talk at 2:15pm. Both meetings are advertised in the Sunday notice sheet.

Come and see what the Lord is doing at our MEALS WITH A MESSAGE.
